OceanEyes has been selected for the “Overseas Demonstration of Satellite Data Utilization System (Feasibility Study)” under the FY2024 Space Strategy Fund Program. Our proposal, titled “Development and Demonstration of a Satellite-Based Marine and Fisheries Support System in Indonesia” (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”), was officially approved for funding on March 31, 2025. Over the course of approximately one year, we will carry out the Project through to March 2026.
OceanEyes began full-scale operations in Indonesia in 2024. In March 2025, the company established its first overseas representative office (KP3A) in North Jakarta. We view our selection for this overseas demonstration project as a recognition of the efforts and achievements we have made in Indonesia to date.
Through this project, OceanEyes aims to deploy satellite-based solutions in Indonesia that contribute to the efficiency and digitalization of the fisheries sector. These solutions will leverage satellite data analysis, marine environment forecasting, and potential fishing ground prediction technologies. In promoting this initiative, we also seek to support the advancement of Indonesia’s fisheries industry by enabling local fishers—the actual end users—to access visualizations of favorable fishing zones and hazardous areas, identified using AI and numerical models, via everyday devices such as smartphones.
